SkillSoft FAQ

Will my activity be recorded in Banner?

Content that contains a test and reports as completed are uploaded to Banner Self-Service under "Professional Development" for all trainings that were completed during the previous month.

Is my browser compatible?

The preferred internet browser for Windows computers is Internet Explorer. Apple computer users should use Safari.

What do I do if I can't login?
If you are able to log into your MySLU, you should be automatically logged in when you click the Skillsoft icon. Do not use a bookmarked page to access Skillsoft - you have to access through MySLU. All faculty, staff, and students should have the Skillsoft icon.  If not, contact ITS at 977-4000 to request the icon.
What do I do if I have technical difficulties while viewing training courses in Skillsoft?
In the left hand navigation, click "Support." Select "Live Help." This will give you access to a live customer service representative from Skillsoft to help you with training issues. If they are unable to help you with your specific problem, they will suggest who you should speak to next (either SLU ITS or the Training and Development Department at training@slu.edu).
How do I print proof that I completed and passed a course?
Completion certificates are only available for courses that contain a test you have passed. There are two ways to access the certificate:
  • From the course, click the dropdown arrow next to "Launch" and choose "View Certificate."
  • From the "Learning Transcript" link in the left navigation bar, locate the course, then use the "Action" dropdown box to choose "View Certificate."
This will give you an official certificate you can save or print.
I still have questions. What should I do?
There are video tutorials in the left hand navigation that can walk you through each part of the system. You can also access a user guide by clicking the question mark at the top right. If you have exhausted your search, contact the SLU HR Learning and Development department at training@slu.edu.
